In-App Notifications
Mowafeq shows notifications inside the app so you never have to rely on email alone. A bell sits at the top-right of the sidebar header (next to the collapse arrow); on mobile, the bell appears in the top bar. A count badge on the bell shows how many unread notifications you have.
What You Get Notified About
Notifications cover activity on all projects you are assigned to, not just the currently selected one. Each entry shows the event type, the entity reference (e.g., the transmittal number), the project it belongs to, and how long ago it happened.
| Notification | When it fires | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
| Transmittal received | A transmittal is sent to your company (including CC) | Staff users at each receiver/CC company |
| Response received | A response transmittal is sent to your company | Staff users at the original sender company |
| Transmittal returned | A transmittal you sent was returned for modification | Staff users at the sender company |
| Return requested | The sender asked your company to return a transmittal | Staff users at each receiver company |
| Letter received | A letter is sent to your company | Staff users at each receiver company |
| Step assigned to you | A workflow step you participate in becomes active | The step's participants |
| Workflow completed | A workflow on a transmittal/letter finishes | Document controllers in the company (except the completer) |
| Bulk import finished / failed | Your bulk document import completes or fails | The user who started the import |
| Added to project | An administrator assigns you to a project | The assigned user |
In-app notifications are always on — the email Notification preferences matrix controls emails only.
The Notification Bell
Click the bell to open a panel with your most recent notifications, grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then dates). Two tabs filter the panel:
- All — Shows every notification.
- Action required — Events addressed to you personally (review requests, transmittals sent to your company, return requests).
Each entry reads as a sentence (e.g., "CSMEDI-CCD sent Transmittal TR-014") with a colored type icon, the project name, and a relative time. Unread entries are tinted with a maroon dot on the right; unread action-required entries also carry a maroon accent bar and a quick-action button ("Review now" / "Open transmittal").
Actions from the Panel
- Click a notification to open the related transmittal, letter, or page. If the notification belongs to a different project, Mowafeq switches your active project automatically and then opens the item.
- Mark all read to clear the unread badge in one click.
- View all notifications to open the full Notifications page.
While the app is open, new notifications arrive automatically (checked every few seconds). Action-required events also pop up briefly as a toast in the bottom-right corner (with a View shortcut); informational events just increment the bell badge silently.
The Notifications Page
View all notifications (or the bell in the mobile top bar) opens the full Notifications page with your complete history:
- All · Unread · Action required filter pills — Unread shows the current count.
- Mark all as read and Preferences (opens your profile's email-notification matrix) buttons in the page header.
- Rows are grouped under day headers (Today / Yesterday / dates) inside the list.
- Pagination (20 per page) for browsing older activity.
- Every row shows the project name, so cross-project activity is always identifiable; clicking a row deep-links exactly like the bell panel.
