This section covers user roles and initial setup to help you get started with Mowafeq.

User Roles

Mowafeq has two user roles visible to end users:

Regular User

  • Registry access: Can view the Document Registry, Transmittal Registry, and Letter Registry.
  • Workflow participation: Can submit comments and files for workflow steps assigned to them.
  • Profile management: Can view and update their profile and change their password.
  • Limitations: Cannot create, edit, or delete documents. Cannot send transmittals or letters. Cannot access the Administration section.

Document Controller (Staff)

Has all Regular User capabilities, plus:

  • Document management: Create documents (single and bulk import), edit documents they own, create revisions and versions, delete documents they own.
  • Transmittals: Create and send normal, response, and resubmission transmittals. Manage drafts. Perform lifecycle actions (close, supersede, return for modification, delete).
  • Letters: Create and send letters, edit letters they sent (before any responses), reply to received letters, acknowledge informational letters.
  • Workflows: Start, cancel, and restart internal review workflows on transmittals and letters.
  • Administration: Manage document types, invite users to their company, configure workflow templates, and manage project settings.
  • Scope limitation: User management is limited to their own company.
