Common End-to-End Workflows

This section demonstrates complete scenarios from start to finish.

Submitting Documents (Contractor to Consultant)

  1. Create documents (single or bulk import) with the correct type and fields.
  2. Select documents in the registry and click "Create Transmittal" (or go to "Send Transmittal").
  3. Optionally save as draft for later review.
  4. Optionally start an internal workflow for review before sending.
  5. Send the transmittal. The consultant receives email notifications.

Reviewing and Responding (Consultant)

  1. See the transmittal in the dashboard "Action Required" tab.
  2. Optionally start an internal workflow to route through reviewers.
  3. Click "Respond" and set a status for each document (Approved, Revise and Resubmit, etc.).
  4. Optionally save the response as a draft.
  5. Send the response. Documents are automatically updated based on the response statuses.

Resubmission After Rejection

  1. Review response statuses on the original transmittal's Documents tab.
  2. Create new revisions of rejected documents with updated files.
  3. Go to "Send Resubmission", select the original transmittal, attach revised documents, and send.

Letter Communication

  1. Create a letter with "For Action" or "For Information" purpose.
  2. Recipient sees it in their dashboard "Pending Letters" tab.
  3. For "For Action": Recipient replies with a letter, which closes the original.
  4. For "For Information": Recipient clicks "Acknowledge" to close it.

Handling a Returned Transmittal

  1. Receiver clicks "Return for Modification" with an optional comment.
  2. Sender sees the transmittal is now editable with a returned banner.
  3. Sender modifies the transmittal (documents, title, receivers, etc.) and re-submits.
  4. Alternative: Sender supersedes the transmittal and creates a new one instead.
