Custom Fields

Documents use two field systems:

Document Type Fields

Defined per document type:

  • Dropdown fields (e.g., "Discipline" with options "Mechanical", "Structural", "Electrical").
  • Always required when creating or editing a document of that type.
  • Option abbreviations are used in auto-generated reference numbers.

Project-Level Custom Fields

Defined per project, apply to all documents:

  • Support five types: Text, Number, Date, Single Select, Multi Select.
  • Each can be marked required or optional by the project administrator.
  • Appear as additional columns in the document registry.
  • Managed by Document Controllers in Project Settings.
